Meet the Team!

April Hand, RDH

April is the senior-most person on the team, having worked with Dr Scarborough for nearly 20 years!

Originally from Brandon, Mississippi, April attended Brandon Academy and then attended the School of Health Related Professions at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and graduated in 1988.

She moved with her husband Shelton to Natchez in 1992 and has been working with Dr Scarborough ever since.

She enjoys (but doesn’t have time for) reading, tennis and spending time with her family. She has two children, son Trey and daughter Abigail.

D’Nella Cavin, RDH

Born and raised on the “Buffalo Mall” in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, D’Nella lived the country life from an early age, milking cows, chopping wood, and roofing barns. She graduated from Centerville Academy in 1996 and from Pearl River Community College School of Dental Hygiene in 1999.

D’Nella is warm and friendly and is especially good with children and could probably get a child to eat broccoli and LIKE it!

She enjoys smocking, camping and riding horses. She is married to Neal and they have three kids: Maggie, Gracie and Austin.

Mindy Grayson, Assistant Extroidinaire

Mindy (or Doctor Mindy, as we call her) is our newest team member but has been in dentistry for many years and has been trained in chairside procedures by some of the best. She's highly qualified to offer expanded duty procedures as allowed. She has trained at the Pankey Dental Institute and also received further instruction in occlusal therapy by experts in the field.

Mindy is from Vidalia and attended Northeast Louisiana University. She enjoys (and only has time for) trying to keep up with her three kids, Kaitlyn, Chandler and Blake.

Penny Smith, Office Manager

The Other Penny has been on the team since May 2010 and has made a huge impact with her friendly phone skills and upbeat attitude. Hers is the first voice you hear and face you see and she looks as friendly as she sounds!

Penny is from Roxie, Mississippi and graduated from South Natchez High School in 1987. She has worked in dentistry for many years and has gained tremendous experience dealing with billing and insurance and all other office-related issues.

She enjoys fishing with her husband Dexter and following the athletic pursuits of her daughter Abby.
